I'd argue that they should have just made them require the completion prize from their suit originals to craft. That way people who already used a lot of diamonds to get the initial suits wouldn't need to pony up even more dias for something that would be included as a completion prize now-a-days.

The issue with that idea is that it would make the make-ups a lot more expensive for everyone else.

But, they could have also just made a recipe and a store version of the make-ups as well. The store versions could be available for their current dia cost, while the crafting versions would just require the completion prize of their respective suits with no additional dias needed to craft them.
