Daily r/GoNets Discussion - December 24, 2022

Haven't felt this good about this team since the end of the Celtics series in 2021. I was so confident that year that we could go all the way, because we were clicking on the offensive end at a level we never had in all our years as a team. That was the #1 offence in the history of the NBA.

This isn't that. And that's a good thing. This is a #5 offense coupled with #12 Defense (and constantly improving every game), rather than the greatest offense ever getting into 150 point shootouts against the Cavs and the Wizards.

We were more talented back then, we are way more complete now. Part of me is glad Harden demanded out, coz now if we can win, it'll be through sheer hard work and chemistry instead of being labelled a super team. We defend, we box out, we switch we score and best of all, the vibes are awesome.

I went through a stretch last season where I was just checking the scores after the game (I live in Asia, the games happen middle of the night/Early morning for me), so I thought "Why bother to wake up if the team isn't going to for the matchup". Today I actively ensured to wake up, as I have ever since somewhere in the middle of stretch without Kai, only time I weakened was the Sixers game, where I had to turn off the game in the middle and go back to sleep.

This team has earned my respect, so When I wake up at 4 and watch this team, it feels even better than just normal win because I feel like my own efforts were rewarded.

PS it is not fun waking up at 4 and seeing your team get blown out by the Philly bench, ruins your next two days quite badly.
