Dear Jagex, PLEASE Don't Ruin Zaros.

Hi Ashipwreckedguy. I never did respond to your response to my post. I think you should give me at least a little credit in the "not missing the point of his character" area of things. To be fair, my post was a bit rushed and sentimental at the end. But, to give you and everyone Context to what I'm trying to say, I'll elaborate further.

I am not trying to get Jagex to turn Zaros into a "Good Guy" or a "Hero"... Nor am I trying to get Jagex to turn away from making him a little "evil-ish". Also, I DON'T want Zaros to be "Perfect" in any way whatsoever, as that would devalue his character.

The single Big Message I'm trying to get out is that Zaros, contrary to your opinion, IS a complicated and deep character and for all that Runescape and Jagex have hyped him up to be over the years, he deserves more than to be simply branded "Evil" or "Good" or "Manipulator" or "Power Hungry".

What drove me to write this Post about Zaros is how he was very cheaply portrayed in Seren's return quest "The Light Within". In the quest he was more or less simplified down into nothing more than a Cliche Treacherous Power Hungry Villain. This really bothered me. So... I then had the thought of "What if... it lazily sum things up in one go, Jagex simply says that everything Zaros said in Fate of The Gods were only lies and manipulations?"

If Jagex does that with Zaros's character, or simplifies literally any other character to cut corners, because it's "easier", or for the sake of time restraints, it would heavily devalue the character in question and make them cheap.

As for the "Long amounts of Dialogue" you refer to... Think about it... Since 2005, Zaros has been a famously popular character/god in Runescape that hardly anyone knew about. 9 years later, and it's 2014. There were SO Many unanswered questions, blanks of information about Zaros as a character, and A LOT of undiscovered territory that the quest was taking the Player into. I mean hell, it took us to Freneskae. FRENESKAE. The Illusive plane of eternal warfare and the Home Plane of the Mahjarrat. Before the quest, Freneskae was just an idea. Zaros was just an Idea. So... understandably, there was A LOT of Lore to fill in and questions to answer. Yet, they still made a pretty damn awesome quest to go along with all of the brand new things they added, even if that quest was short and Zaros didn't do a lot. I mean hey... In FOTG we were just getting started. In my eyes, to skip the dialogue and information people were waiting nearly a decade to know is simply dishonoring the game. I loved every moment of it.

Back to Zaros's character though... Zaros shouldn't be a hero... if anything, more of an Anti hero. He shouldn't be completely Evil, or completely "Good". He shouldn't be perfect, and he shouldn't have way too many petty flaws. He should be a little bit of everything with slight biases in certain areas. And ABOVE ALL ELSE... Zaros SHOULD NOT Be Portrayed Cheaply.

That's all I'm trying to get across. Thank you for Reading! :)
