TIL: If you're lucky enough to win 50M on Treasure Hunter (0.004% or 1/25,000), and you're unlucky enough to be free-to-play, you first have to save up ~57M+ for a bond to claim it. Why?

Alot are talking how this is to prevent F2P alts from rolling easy money all the time.

While they do have a point, I think that this opens another can of worms on the legality of lootboxes: Hostaging lootbox rewards.

Certain countries already have regulations regarding lootboxes, and something about lootboxes 'Hostaging your reward unless you pay for a subscription' doesn't exactly sound right either. At least there's the oddments payout one can always do, and frankly imo was made solely for this as you would've wasted your roll as a F2P, especially if it was a purchased key (why one would purchase keys over membership is another discussion).

There's also no mention of the cash rewards only being claimable by P2P but at the claim screen after the roll.

It's a pretty scummy practice in the perspective of F2P and makes me wish countries would step up against such practices.
