Dear redditors of South Dakota.

Okay, first off I'll state that I don't align with the population of my state's political line, of you can get the picture. And honestly, it is better that I reply, than a lot of others (as highly arrogant as that sounds). And I am honestly being as respectful as I can be here, but we are all strung VERY tightly.

However, if you haven't noticed our dumpster-fire of a situation currently, let me enlighten you. We have bars, casinos, and restaurants open. We have tourists flocking in. We are trying to protect ourselves and our medical/food resources currently in the midst of this global pandemic from a governor who is refusing to shut anything down, saying she doesn't have executive power. Then does, then whatever the fuck. Every single day is a battle of 'will the right thing be done by our leaders' filled with disappointment and dread as yet another day passes while they do nothing and cases start to blossom while the real issues like making rioting the Keystone Pipeline a felony got pushed through during this pandemic.

We have people who flat out do not give a fuck about this virus, exposing those who are essential workers, and their households daily while we hang onto whatever money we have currently. You have to have a kid for Medicaid, or you're disqualified. ACA most people don't qualify for, even after losing their jobs, and we currently are unable to go to a community health center unless you live in Rapid City or Sioux Falls without a huge wait list.

So helping our state right now, would be getting the word out that we just aren't 'not putting a shelter in place' order out there. We still have shit open and business as usual. People adoring our governor and her stand away from shutting down the state and 'freedom' are now vacationing here for the summer in our parks & lakes. It says we don't have a lot of cases, but as most of the nation, testing here is hard as shit.

I get what you are doing. I want him out of the White House asap too. But the first rule about campaigning, which I did before this pandemic for a candidate, was to know the people and understand the problem. Otherwise you can easily turn people away. Spouting random facts and shit is okay during 'normal' times. But when a lot of us have to go to work, or families go to work, and you don't know if you're going to have an outbreak in your home the next week because people are still gambling, going out to eat, and going to the bars, your priorities are a bit all over the place and we, to put it bluntly, are stressed the EVERLIVING fuck out right now.
