Basics:

Current caphit: 60,464,394 | Roster spots: 14

The salary cap could be as high as 72 million and as low as 70 -- all depending on the Canadian dollar. I'm going to go with 72.

The roster can go from 20 to 23 players. The Kings currently have 14 players. So they have ~11 million to sign 6 more players.

Sending a player down creates $925,000 in cap space. For example, Mike Richards' current cap hit is 5,750,000. But in the minors he only accounts for $4,825,000.

Personal guesses:

My guess is that the Kings will terminate Voynov's contract this offseason. This frees up $4,166,667 in cap space and a roster spot. My other assumption is that the Kings will keep Mike Richards and bump him to the third line and not re-sign both Stoll and Regehr.

So to me, the Kings really have $15,702,273 in cap space to sign 7 more players.

My guess is that Toffoli and Pearson will cost the Kings a combined ~$7,500,000. They're both offer-sheet eligible so a team like the Flames could easily screw us.

That leaves $7,500,000 for Williams, 1 forward, 2 d-men, and 1 goalie.

1 forward will probably be a callup like Shore.

1 of the d-men will probably be McBain. I can see him re-signing for cheap. I'd imagine he likes playing here.

The goalie spot is interesting because we have an establish back up in Jones and a great prospect in Berube. My guess is one of them gets traded before next season.
