Does anyone else fantasize about a mundane job where you can just shut your brain down for the day?

I just get tired of the never ending problems that need solved. I’m getting burnt out from it pretty bad.

It’s to the point now where I come home and I’m annoyed when my wife asks me about one of her problems (she might have more problems than work has lol).

I’m also tired of sitting at a desk all day. I feel like it’s killing me physically and mentally.

The problem is my lifestyle has become accustomed to making 6 figures and I have no idea how I could maintain my lifestyle while doing a job that doesn’t have non-stop problems and where I dont have to sit at a desk all day (would love to be outside more).

I used to love engineering. When I was in college I used to love tinkering with cool circuits, microcontrollers, programming etc, but any more that is the absolute last thing I want to mess with when I’m not working. Corporate America has crushed my soul and I’m just going through the motions out of necessity until I save enough money to figure out how to escape the rat race.
