Does Capitalism "End?"

I'm going to acknowledge at the start that this is anecdotal and there is certainly someone more qualified than me to answer this.

That said, from a purely logical standpoint capitalism will have to come to an end. I'll make a few points to justify this statement.

Resources

Capitalism requires resources to continue growth. Without that growth, all of those things you mention don't have a chance of happening. The earth has finite resources, thus those resources will run out (unless we become a space traversing species).

Efficiency

While capitalism is very resource heavy, it is also incredibly efficient. For example, any business looks to maximize profit, the basic tenant of capitalism. There are a few ways to do that, one of which is workforce efficiency. This can manifest itself in a number of ways, the most common of which is less expenses.

Labor is expensive. Thus, there is enormous pressure to decrease labor costs. That can come in the form of anticompetitive wage stagnation, or it can come in what (I believe) is happening currently with automation. With many of the tasks we all do being quite repetitive, we could theoretically "program" out many jobs today.

Don't believe me, look at what driverless cars will do to the transportation and trucking industries.

Without those jobs, there's could be huge pressure for increased wages; or there could be no money for people to use to keep capitalism churning.

Inequality

By default, in a competitive system, there are winners and losers. Taking the two thoughts above, there will be a point in time where the "losers" are separated so far from the "winners" that societal pressures will precipitate pressures out of this system.

Now again, I've listed no sources, just my thoughts (as I'm walking out of the door at this moment and don't have time to do my proper research). Hopefully someone can expand on this with sources confirming or contradicting my sentiments. However, the first two points to me seem to make it pretty obvious that a system based on ultimate workforce efficiency + resource consumption cannot last forever.
