Does Cleo brand run small in the band? Should I order a sister size?

I feel a bit confused. Looking back at your previous post, it seemed that you had found a couple of bras in 38C that you felt comfortable in and you thought they fit you well--which is great. Now looking at you measurements, one would expect that 38C would be a small in the cup, but could be the styles you found ran generous in the cup.

It seems like you've tried a few sizes in different Cleo and Panache bras with no luck so far. But please don't feel like you've "struck out" because these bras aren't right for you. If you're finding 38DD to be always big in the cup, then could be the calculator overestimated your cup size. This, in fact, tends to happen when the leaning bust measurement is 2 or more inches bigger than the standing measurement. So let's say you're in the 38C or 38D size range (I think a 40 band will almost certainly be too large, unless you would prefer a loose band). But the Cleo and Panache bras just aren't right for you, and that's okay. There are lots of other bras out there.

I see that in your past thread Freya half-cups were suggested, so you might want to try some of those, probably in 38D Freya bands tend to be stretchier than Cleo, so shouldn't feel as tight. There are also some good suggestions in this thread from t_maia.

But also, if you're a 38C or 38D you're in a size that is well-represented in the bra matrix (most common bra sizes available). You have loads of options in physical stores to try, as well as shopping on line. I would suggest you have a look at Wacoal bras and the N by Natori line. You should be able to find styles at a good local department store. You could try Lane Bryant as well because you fall within their size range, and also Victoria's Secret if you like. Not all their bras are the bombshell push-up type. They make some nice lightly-lined ones that are good for every day wear and fit a shallow shape, if you are indeed that. Their Pink line might have something for you as well.

In short, go out and explore! There should be quite a few options out there for you. And if you want, you can post a fit check about any kind of bra, it doesn't have to be the ones most commonly suggested here. For feedback, though, it does help a lot if you give lots of description and post the make and model of the bras you've tried. Fit pictures with the bra on are totally optional but are helpful if you're comfortable with it.
