I feel you. When I watched The Cure a few weeks ago, during their big hits I essentially had to look at the band on stage through people's phones in front of me (I was in 10th row or something). Imagine during "Friday I'm in Love"...

On the other hand, you can't force people to live an experience in a certain way. Europe has a different culture than Korea/Japan.

Although I enjoy 99% of the show without my phone, I myself like to take a couple of pictures or videos and I wouldn't feel okay to be banned from doing it. It's still something way more personal than a paid professional recording.

Again, as much as it's a bummer when it's all phones in front of me, you can't force people. That's the world we live in. We have to deal with it. (my two cents)
