this is obviously just my best guess on this, but them not singing the regime’s anthem was their too-little-too-late attempt at doing a bit of damage control because they had realized that this time they’d F’d up way too badly, that is with their incredibly distasteful photoshoot at the time when the majority of country are protesting and mourning the death of their mates. And with them meeting with the president of the regime and bowing to them and singing their praise for them.
