Yeah I haven't had much luck with breaking into social hobby spaces either (outside of fandom). Though my experience has been less being the victim of actual nastiness and more that everyone is already into their own little cliques and you're basically ignored, might as well not be there at all.

I also get ignored, when I'm not being bullied. Just yesterday, I was playing an online game with a SO, and during co-op, a random player joined us, and only spoke to him, and completely ignored me. I just...don't get why it happens to me so much, but there it is.

I haven't downvoted you, so it's probably people that are corrupt mods on Discord or their cronies that benefit from such treatment.
