Part Two : Doubleclicks's Revenge.
Now I've had to think long and hard about whether to do this 'sequel' as I'm a believer in the old saying, " Let sleeping dogs lie" or words to that effect. However, I will press-on.
In the weeks and months after Doubleclicks's bashing, the names of the offenders become well known. They were in fact part of the Oakleigh Wogs gang - as I had suspected. The driver of the vehicle ( the oldest of them) was said to have expressed some remorse over the attack upon hearing my age. The two chaps who attacked me, however, were said to say " we don't give a fuck".
In hindsight, I suspect that they were wannabe Oakleigh Wogs, and not the genuine article. But one never knows.
What I did know, was that at some point in the future ( about 5 years later) one of them would regret the day he bashed a defenceless 13 year old, for no good reason.
Anyway as the years went by Doubleclicks stopped hanging out with his Greek mates, who weren't interested in pulling cones and guzzling Fruity Lexia, and started to mix with mainly kids from an Anglo/Celtic background with the odd Italian thrown in.
This was a consequence of my family moving to a neighbouring suburb, although I still used to frequent some of the old haunts - one such place was the Oakleigh Pools. This was a wonderful place with a couple of 3 meter boards at one end of the pool and a tower at the other end with a 5, 7 and 10 meter platform. These were some of the most care-free and magical times of my youth...I loved that place.
Now I'll make quick reference to my best friend at that time, Sick ....., also known as the White Ape, thanks to his 1 inch full body covering of hair. He was quite simply the hairiest cunt around - bar none. I'd love to use his full nickname, but as he is still very much alive, and was well known back in the day, I can't. He was extremely advanced physically for his age and ran amok in our football league for years, as he was simply untouchable - He was invited to train with the Richmond under 19's as a 14 year old but preferred to smoke billies and drink piss with his mates. I mention him here because I may tell another story down the track where he is the main protagonist.
So one day, about 2 years after my bashing the youngest of my assailants( about 17 at the time of the attack) was at the pools. I don't think he recognised me, but I did him. The white ape, who regularly knocked out blokes a lot older them himself was very keen to do the bizzo on this cunt right then and there. I, however, was reluctant. I was 15 at the time and you never know how these things could turn out, IE : a second beating at the hands of this guy.
Fast forward 3 years. I'm 18, a fully grown man, more than comfortable in my own age-group( nothing like sick...., who despite not growing anymore after the age of 16 was still instilling fear in plenty of others) and it was a case of now or never.
So we are at the pools and yes, that's right, 'Kostas' is there too. To cut to the chase, the difference between an 18 year old and a 22 year is insignificant compared to a 17 and 13 year old.
The white ape urged me to just "kick the cunt in the head" while he was sunbathing and he would take care of his mates. But with families and children around, I passed on that idea.
About an hour later, 'Kostas' went to the change-rooms. I followed. I wasn't sure what I would do if there was a life-guard in there or a dad with his kids but thankfully there wasn't. I walked up behind him, said "hey" and as he turned around I caved in his cheekbone with my forehead. I then 'teed-off' on his miserable noggin and left him convulsing near the urinal. I may have spat on him as he lay there - I don't quite remember, and care less.
I quickly legged it out of the change-rooms, signalled to the white ape, and in quick-time, we had jogged to the Royal Oak Hotel for a few pots.
Make of this story what you will Mr. GG. Are they merely the deranged musings of an old-timer, or... You be the judge.
PS. As you can imagine, I gave the Oakleigh pools a wide birth after this event( 2 years or so), which was a high price to pay. But then again justice - real justice- had been served.
In reality all it led to, sadly is that 'Kostas's' brothers and mates would've beaten up every 12- 18 year old ,who wasn't a wog, in the next few months so in that regard I have mixed feelings about the whole tit for tat thing.
I might take a break from these yarns now( as they are somewhat taxing) and at some point in the future will regale you with some tales of Sick....., the white ape.
