Driving country roads as a kid in a red velvet Oldsmobile

This might hit people a little older; as my flair implies, I'm a mid 90s kid, but my dad was born in '48 and his parents in the mid '20s. I remember driving slowly down the gravel country backroads of Nebraska with my uncle in my grandpa's car, a white Oldsmobile with this interior. My uncle was a peppermint Schnapp's guy.

When I got off the gravel road I had to turn, and I didn't understand how much you had to turn the wheel to make a 90 degree turn. I totally flubbed the turn and ended up in the middle of the street - in front of a police cruiser! In small-town Nebraska, of course, he waved hello to my uncle and carried on his way as my uncle and I switched places so that he could drive us back to his place.
