Interview with Queen Margrethe II of Denmark: 'I Would Not Say We Are a Multicultural Country'

This is merely a repetition of the perception that I am criticizing. This perception goes directly against the concept of human rights. What Denmark is doing is not okay.

The European Human Rights Convention opens up with pretty simple language. We have ratified this text and it is legally binding. It uses the word everyone consistently throughout the text, e.g. (highlighted):

The High Contracting Parties shall ensure to everyone within their juristiction the rights and freedom defined in Section I of this Convention.

Section I includes article 9, the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion.

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief, in worship, teaching, practice and observance.

[Section] 2. Freedom to manifest one's religion or beliefs shall be subject only to such limitations are are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democracy in the interests of public safety, for the protection of public order, health or morals, or for the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.

The Monarch's situation does not fall within section 2 of this article. Therefore, Denmark is robbing an individual of her human rights without justification.

Which is what I said is not okay. It isn't and won't ever be. To me, this is just one more reason among many to permanently close down the Monarchy.
