Employee that can’t read.

I have a plethora of dyslexic family members. You clearly didn’t understand what I stated in the original post and ran with an assumption that I did not state. In my heavily mechanic environment, reading is a necessity even when it comes down to cleaning our equipment due to being able to know what can and can’t be used on the equipment. When you have a team of 15+ technicians and you make accommodations for poor performance, then that’s where my issue is. I sit with my employee and tell them step by step what to type in their work orders. IT’S A MATTER OF SAFETY. There are other job functions that are less life threatening that can be done within the corporation than hiring someone because you know them and ignoring poor performance. So your last statement is invalid and distasteful.
