Oh goodness, I can definitely agree with you on the imagery. That’s Moffat and his role as showrunner getting great folks involved with the show to make it look stunning. The spacesuit coming out of the lake is a great example for sure.

I can sympathise with you in terms of romance in the show. Amy doing whatever to the Doctor was just really off putting, and I think even Moffat has admitted he regrets writing some of that stuff. But, I respect there is an audience for it... so I just “expunge” those scenes like you said. It was a relief to have Capaldi where we escaped from the romance, though he for sure loved them still as in he cared for them, and that was fine!

RTD was great but similarly with romance, I did not care for Rose and 10, however Martha liking the Doctor but him not liking her back was something I liked, as I think this is more natural for the character. Donna and 10 was just fantastic too.

I think with arcs it’s just a preference thing, or maybe you’re seeing something I’m not. They just paid off for me I guess and not for you which is fine, we experience it all different and we probably wouldn’t ever be able to convince the other to change their minds. I will say the Series 6 ending was a bit of a mess for me though, I can admit that, but no I really enjoyed the build up.
