Eu4 on a Globe. (Yes I know this subreddit's Vic2).

This is using base EU4 data, I know. I also know that this subreddit is Vic2 but there's not a lot of traffic here which I like.

Some of you who've been around for years may recognize me as the guy who made this. It's the "not open vic2" open vic2 in unity. I'm not that other guy, I'm much less skilled.

Anyways, I've been hammering out a "Eu4 on a Globe" concept over the past few weeks for fun and here's the "end" product.

I've slammed headfirst into the problem that killed the project that the gif linked above came from: parsing Paradox files. Let me tell you, it's not fun. It's boring, bug filled regex matching, and once again killed my modivation to continue.

If someone gave me an Equirectangular map of Victoria 2, I can do the same with what I did with Eu4 (I used a modified version of Typus Orbis Terrarum map).

Looks nice though. Uses two 16k maps from NASA's Blue Marble to form the terrain and normal / "texture" of the sphere and a physics based atmospheric scattering shader to form the blue glow around the planet.
