Finally got our water levels in check, 5 of 6 tetra died after a few hours?

So we just went from you saying :

The pet aquarium fish industry is a death sentence to tens of millions of fish every year, even before the fish make it home to their new owners.

A high percentage die in breeding tanks where disease and predation is rampant, more die in transport, and more die at the fish store where disease is rampant from stress.

an industry that carelessly and knowingly kills tens of millions of fish in the name of profit

to:

The fish hobby industry produces 1 billion fish annually and gives those fish a chance at life. 10's of millions of fish meet their death before they're purchased by hobbyists via from disease, predation, poor quality living conditions and diet, transportation, stress and natural selection.

Over 1 billion pet fish get a chance at life annually because of the pet fish hobby market.

A percentage of deaths are the trade-off that no one can make go away.

Just because you suddenly realized how wrong you were in your negative assumptions about me...

How can I even begin to take you seriously when my head is spinning so fast just trying to follow your point?

I truly do not know how I wound up on this post, I was half asleep and scrolling on the toilet. It could have been a suggested post, after browsing the marimo sub. Seems most likely, but again, I do not recall.

Here are some facts for you:

•I never attacked anyone for owning fish, I fully respect and even admire those here who own them responsibly and actually care when their fish die. I merely said that I don't personally own fish or support the industry, after you assumed that of me.

•OP was actively ignoring the very question that needed to be answered in order to help the fish (regarding cycling the water) so I did not feel that they were being receptive to help.

And I already don't have enough time for my hobbies, but they do make me rather happy. Thanks for your concern.

Bye.
