FIRE in India while working in Europe

German salaries can never compete with American salaries and opportunities. Free healthcare and education are irrelevant for high skilled immigrants. This is a common misconception people have about Europe. Grass is greener on the other side syndrome.

OP went to Germany quiet young but he will never be accepted as a local, e.g OP may have problems getting management level jobs BUT if OP works for 5-6 years in Germany, he will be prime candidate for senior level positions in India. It is also important that you are not too old for senior positions in India. Furthermore OP's kids will also not be accepted as locals. I know several people born in Germany and still identify to their home country because they are not accepted as a local. But kids born to Indian immigrants in USA achieve a local identity. I think it is very important to avoid identity crisis and to make your life easier and happier you should blend to the surroundings. Same applies for somebody like OP who went abroad so young, identity crisis can put a damper on quality of life abroad. It is not for everybody. Whereas US identifies itself as a land of immigrants, so first question whenever you meet somebody is not 'Where are you from'.
