I just did this with a LSI SAS9211-8i. I would assume the LSI SAS9201-8i would be similar. I stumbled on a few useful guides:

https://brycv.com/blog/2012/flashing-it-firmware-to-lsi-sas9211-8i/
LSI was aquired by Avago and is now Broadcom so finding drivers isn't as simple as it used to be. If you have a thumb drive sitting around, you can make a simple boot disk from it using Rufus or similar.
Grab both the IT firmware and the BIOS file. These are for the SAS9211-8i. Yours will probably be different.
The main commands I used were
Show your firmware:
sas2flsh -listall
Erase the firmware:
sas2flsh -o -e 6
Install the new firmware:
sas2flash.efi -o -f 2118it.bin -b mptsas2.rom
