You are a terrible writer. I don't say this to offend you or crush your dreams. I just think you should be given an honest assessment of the writing samples you've posted since you seem to intend on pursuing writing as a career.

First, you have far too many grammatical errors in your portfolio. This is especially disconcerting considering that these pieces should be among your most polished. This gives the impression that any piece of writing you turn in would be riddled with mistakes. It's unlikely that anyone hiring freelancers at your rates would be able to afford an editor or be willing to edit the writing themselves.

Some examples from your Lovecraft article:

• "It’s disheartening to you read of talent that went unrecognized in its own time but is celebrated after the death of the person."

The word "you" should not be in this sentence.

• "Now, I’m not saying that he should have been poured on tons of money by the likes of Rockefeller,"

This is nonsensical as is. It currently states that Lovecraft "should have been poured on" the money, rather than the other way around. A better wording of this part of the sentence would be "Now, I'm not saying that tons of money should have been poured on him by the likes of Rockefeller,".

• "Although his father would be admitted to an institution when he was three years old with a caring mother and grandparents surely he had a fighting chance."
