For the people who use Chromium based browsers, what can I do to get you to use Firefox/Gecko?

My elderly mother recently got ransomware. When she got her computer back from her tech support guy he told her to use chrome. I'm a A+ certified tech with a lot of experience setting up LAMP servers, and helping small businesses with 15 years experience. I told her to use Firefox and she said "hmm I dunno, why does [random tech guy] suggest chrome instead? This is a typical scenario. People hate firefox and I'm not sure why. The fact that mozilla has been involved in several political situations is NOT helping AT ALL. be a good browser and leave the activism and SJW mindset at the door. Sure, promote privacy, data rights, opensource and work with EFF that's fine but the rest is a huge turn off to anyone who is even 1% to the right of Bernie Sanders.
