Found this on a park bench today. It probably fell out of someone's pocket. I left it as I found it, perhaps to bring peace to another soul.

I have attended several Vietnamese Buddhist temples since I was a child, and while the images of the lotus and the Buddhist bodhisattva are accurate (My mom even has a statue almost exactly like this minus the willow branch in her prayer room), I’ve never seen Chinese characters on any of the religious iconography/materials at the temples that I have been to; I also think the card would be more likely to have Vietnamese written on it (Instead of Guanyin Bodhisattva, it should say ‘Quán Thế Âm Bồ Tát’) but like love2right, I’ve also never gone to a temple that had or gave out anything like this.

I’m inclined to believe that whoever received this token received it on the street rather than from a temple, and also from someone who wasn’t actually a real monk but perhaps capitalising on the proximity to a temple?
