I have the GH5 and GH6. There are literally thousands of people now using the GH6 to make commercials, creative content, documentaries, and films. Many of them came from the GH5.

I have found the biggest issues related to great video include color grading, which codec did I use, was it 8 bit or 10 bit, did I shoot it in log or one of the other profiles, were my exposures correct, what were my noise reduction settings in Camera, what were my saturation settings in Camera, was I using any other adjustments to the profile I was using, is my editing software modifying the content as part of the render. The list goes on and on and on. I realize now that having the “newest thing” doesn’t make great video.

The GH5 and the GH6 are both outstanding cameras. And if you can’t make great film with either of them, it’s the learning process that is holding you back. I’m not saying that to be critical. THIS IS WHERE I STRUGGLE. When I first got my GH5 I kept asking myself, “why does everybody elses GH5 footage look so good?” I’m encouraging you to be a little more realistic. The GH6 is great.
