Going beyond 'sanctuary,' Austin, Texas, vows to curtail arrests

I'll try to be clearer because I do understand where you are coming from and I do tend to agree with your stance on the matter.

I am NOT a Libertarian as in, a badge wearing party member. I just sympathize with them more because they align more with my personal beliefs that the government should stay out of peoples personal lives. The party in official capacity supports gay marriage, sex changes, abortions, etc... I do not. I simply said that in my first post to let people know I lean towards a more centrist approach.

I said the state legitimately enforces laws against immoral behavior

Who's morals? The Church? The US government on the conservative wing is very much Protestant and most are just a loony as their counterparts on the left who most don't tout any religion at all. Unless the Catholic Church and it's teachings are directly embedded into our laws, then we wont have a Catholic moral state where the laws enforced are good Catholic morals. We'll have a hodge-podge of morals from all walks of life. Our morals as Catholics are vastly different than the morals of the far left. I am simply saying that if we give the government power to tell us right from wrong even when it comes to morals, then we as Catholics may one day see our selves in prison because our morals don't line up with what the government has set forth. If the laws a re set to keep the government small and out of our lives (for the most part) we'll all as a country to have freedoms to just live and be happy without worrying about what law we're breaking now.

I say, let the government stay out of my life and let me live it as I see fit. I don't want a liberal or conservative utopia. I just want a personal freedoms. Live on my farm, go to Mass, and enjoy the simple life. It gets harder and harder the more the government encroaches on our lives with high taxes, new taxes, new laws saying what I can and can't have and do on my own land.

In the end, let's just agree to disagree. I see where you're coming from and I can agree with your stance, I am just more of a personal freedoms guy than anything else.
