LPT: Anger is usually a secondary emotion. When you get angry, ask yourself, "What emotion am I really feeling?"

Saved post below to a doc after reading it on a Subreddit awhile as it was profound. So here it is as is relevent to the convo.

"Any fool can criticise, condemn and complain, and most fools do." -Benjamin Franklin

Constant, unsupported, mindless criticism is the hallmark of powerless, broken people. It's so commonplace as to have become some kind of twisted 'normal' on the internet - so common that few people point it out and slap it down anymore. We have a generation of young adults right now where the majority are forced to move back in with their parents just to survive. They are bitter and undisciplined, and that translates to trying to drag everything else down to their level of wretchedness. If something looks good, if somebody is doing something heartfelt - and most criminal of all, if they are having any success at it - then it becomes intolerable that they should succeed. It is, I believe, a mixture of bitterness and jealousy combined with anonymity and groupthink - mob mentality, really - that leads to the constant background of pointless, infuriating, spoiled-brat hate on the internet. When you see a person - or more likely a group - badmouthing something or someone on the internet, that is just entitlement, anger, and bitterness lashing out at anything it can target. In short, there are some very pitiable and immature folks out there who struggle to elevate themselves by bringing everyone else down. If they can't be happy, then no one should be happy - about anything. Including a new game that shows promise. I think the bottom line is this: if things in the world can be great, then it rubs in their own perceived failure to be great themselves. Pity them, but don't take their crap."
