@golemproject: IPFS founder @JuanBenet describes exactly what Golem does as a #Blockchain killer biz #cloudcomputing

"He's a good guy, but I don't find his reasoning convincing." That is because you think like a technician, not like an entrepreneur (with all due respect, no insult intended). Technicians are trained to always find what's wrong. Entrepreneurs are trained to find hidden gems (what's right, but hidden under a pile of s**t). Sometimes you have to sift through their unbridled optimism to see and hear the truth. When Benet says "hashing power" what he really means is the optimized utilization of latent computing power. Hashing is just one specialized use of computing power. An ASIC is the most extreme case where the hardware is designed for only one use. If Golem takes off, you could see manufacturers building computers specifically optimized for the Golem network. I would certainly run one, and I think that a lot of people would as well. The optimist always sees infinite possibilities. The pessimist will always sees why a challenge can't be overcome. Both are necessary for progress to occur.

Really? Did you ask him?

"I would certainly run one"

For what purpose? And how much would you charge? Lol.

Yes. I'm not optimistic for Golem and feel sorry for those who don't understand the limitations of grid computing. That doesn't mean I'm not an entrepreneur.
