Is Graceland Staff Brainwashed?

So you chopped 2 videos together. 1 where she’s a client in early sobriety with a fuck you attitude and 1 where she’s staff who has completed the program and saw some benefits. I’ve worked for a lot of places where I hired clients that were awful starting out and grew to be truly amazing staff. They tend to be the best ones. I’ve never run a program like Graceland and I disagree with a lot of their tactics, but they must be doing something right if it works for even a handful of people. Every argument I see people make on all of these anti Graceland ranch profiles all over social media is skewed. If you knew the industry in California you’d know they’re actually above board compared to most programs. I’ve run programs ranging from $2k a month to $20k a month and Graceland’s sober living seems to do/provide more than all of them. If you truly research how a luxury sober living (not a treatment center) operates in LA you’ll understand everything they do is status quo other than the fact that they have a more rigid structure. I can’t speak to the insurance stuff I’ve seen people talk about, but I don’t think anyone else really knows except for the people running the program. One thing I can say is that I know Danielle’s background in the field and I know she’s not dumb enough to get caught running an insurance scam. People can get away with the insurance scams for a while, but you always get caught. My favorite thing is the people that complain about them making money. The fact of the matter is that it’s a business like any other and can be a pretty lucrative one, but they’re not making as much as you would think. The running costs of these luxury places is insane. Usually $40-$60k a month for a place this size. With multiple owners you don’t end up making millions the way some people think, but even if they did, it’s still a business. It sucks, but being comfortable and in a nice location while in a LA sober living just isn’t cheap. People are willing to hand over their paychecks because they want that kind of setting and they can leave if they don’t want to. Believe me, you don’t want to go to a free state run program or one that accepts Medicaid/Medicare. Those places have real problems and if you think one poor guy dying at this place is bad you should see the rates at the state run facilities. It’s sad, and I wish it wasn’t the case, but People relapse no matter where you go and drugs kill people. Anyway, I know nothing I say will ever matter or change the minds of the people that run these profiles, but it is worth other people actually doing a deep dive into the industry before making their minds up. I ended up leaving the industry because there was so much that was getting hard to stomach, but I’ll close by saying there are a lot worse places that all of you could be looking into. Graceland is just an easy target because they are purposely more transparent than any other facility I’ve come across in my 10 years in the industry. Sorry for the rant, but if you want to be informed, these social media accounts aren’t the types of places you should be getting your info from. Most of these pages were probably started by disgruntled clients who got kicked out or staff who were fired. We addicts are a particularly spiteful group, so a lot of us are more than happy to cause a lot of problems and make shit up or blow things out of proportion to get back at someone. If the mod sees this and isn’t a past client or employee, I apologize for making the assumption. Take care everybody!
