Here’s a trippy thought:

If his projection is correct, then human society will basically function as maintenance for a massive global computer. One that could host an elaborate VR universe.

Now, there are some awesomely tripped-out mycologists that have posited that the mycorrhizae in the soil/root systems of trees could actually form a sort-of neurological network if allowed to grow large enough. There is an idea that the ‘faeries’ of old were sort-of like VR characters that were hosted by a massive global computer made out of mycorrhizae.

Over the last 1,000 years, humans have decimated the Earths forests. Europe and North America were once un-navigable oak thickets. The destruction of these forests was facilitated by religions that violently punished the worship of nature/trees/fairies. Humans were once the caretakers of the forest, and now they are the destroyers.

Humans are, collectively, a terraforming machine. And how humans collectively terraform the planet is mediated by the culture of those humans (what the humans are taught to value will determine what they maintain or destroy.)

Now then, if you look at it from a 4th-dimensional perspective, it would look a sort of inter-dimensional war/genocide - the biologically hosted VR universe being destroyed to create a technological one.

We humans are like gods because we exist in the physical universe, where our actions can have an enormous impact on the VR universes. Our collective actions are mediated by cultural value systems, and those value systems are dictated by authority figures who claim to have interactions with other-dimensional entities.

Tl/dr: The collective terraforming actions of humanity is the medium through which an inter-dimensional “spiritual war” is being waged between two opposing technological systems.

PS: to those who are saying “herpdederrr he’s not a real time travellerrff”: faith in authority is a logical fallacy, anyway. If the teacher says 2x2=4, and you just accept it as fact, you’ll never actually learn anything. You are like the dog who looks at the finger, rather than looking where the finger is pointing. There are fun ideas out there waiting to be explored, but instead you use your brain to amplify primitive social behavioral mechanisms. Also, you are just plain boring.
