The Pens must protect Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Letang, and Fleury. They can either protect 7 forwards, 3 defensemen, and 1 goalie, or 4 forwards, 4 defensemen, and 1 goalie.
I would pick 7:3:1 and go with this Forwards: Crosby Malkin Kessel Hornqvist Hagelin Rust Wilson/Kuhnhackl. Either or.
Vegas will be building a team from a $0 cap hit position. They will need to find players with some meat on their contracts to fill out their roster. Given that very few high priced players will be available, they will probably be looking for some guys like Hagelin and Fehr. I'd rather lose Fehr. Granted, they are picking 30 players, so I don't know what that would mean for Sundqvist, and I'd rather keep him than Wilson or Kuhnhackl. But, I'm relying on Vegas not putting a lot of stock into Sundqvist with so many other players exposed, even though he's having a terrific season in the AHL. It is also his first terrific season points wise.
Defense: Letang Maatta Dumoulin
I'd expose Cole. I don't believe that RFA's can be exposed, except with goalies.
Goalie: Trade Fleury and protect Murray.
If the Pens can't make a deal with an accepted team, then they can ask Fleury to wave his NMC. If he refuses, they must expose Murray.
