As someone who works second shift and as a result doesn't get to watch very many games...what the fuck happened to this team?

The problem is the only thing the Pens have done well all year is the PK. The power play went to shit because everybody became more stationary. This sums up the scoring: https://twitter.com/JoshYohe_Trib/status/584734434848595968?s=09 I can't recall a time in the last 45 or so games (where we're playing .500 hockey > which is really bad) where Johnston calls a timeout and screws the players heads on straight when shit goes downhill during a game. We especially needed that in the games we lost due to poor discipline.

He continually dresses players who are detrimental to this team. Pouliot for example: yes GREAT talent, BUT he has made at least 5 egregious turnovers leading to goals...3 of which I can recall turned out to be game winners. His offensive upside doesn't come close to making up for that. The Pens can't afford to develop him in the NHL when it's costing us points. He only just turned 21 right? Bring up Chorney full time and let Pouliot develop there.

I get that HCMJ wants to be all even keel after a loss/win and approaches the game intellectually...but NHL players really need a kick in the ass in games we're self-destructing. Show some fuckin emotion. Galvanize the troops. There's 3 fuckin games left and they need some inspiration. As much as I hated Bylsma's decisions in the playoffs..at least he got us there no sweat every year. This team has been scoring 1 goal a game with alarming regularity. If you can't score then FUCKING PUT 71 AND 87 TOGETHER THE WHOLE GAME WITH HORNQVIST. What do you have to lose? Put the 3 other forwards who have been playing well, together: Winnik, Sutter, Downie. If Perron wants to play uninspired hockey at this time of the year then let him rot in the bottom 6 with Bennett, Kunitz and co.
