I feel for these people as pretty as they are. I remember that pain... being insecure, thinking I wanted "someone hot" and having a checklist, a "type", you don't realize the barriers you set for yourself, the transparency of your own insecurity... sometimes we're so sure of ourselves only to realize how wrong we are, in denial. It's so hard in today's world not to feel like a piece of shit about yourself, not to feel alone and ugly. As women, we have been so long objectified, and so many of us men and women, sexually abused. We take all that, deny all that, and try to find a way for ourselves. The greatest gift for me was finding someone that showed me how to love myself. But it's not easy to find someone like that, society projects this impossible dream on us, tells you how relationships should be... but for me love is friendship first and attraction really does grow from that. We all don't have the pleasure of being bold, beautiful, successful - we're just average, and sometimes its hard to just be.
