I’m so sorry this happened. But honestly says a lot how petty and rude the bride and groom are. What a stupid rule to have in this day and age, why be so trivial and petty that only engaged or married couples get invited? That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. If they’re that way, I wouldn’t want to attend their wedding anyways. Coming back to you, I think it does suck that he’s been holding onto the ring, I never understood that. If he went and bought a ring, he should just finish the job. “The right moment” is such a canned response. I think you should be up front and say that if he wasn’t going to do it by thanksgiving, he shouldn’t of said that because getting your hopes up was cruel.
