Help me find my career path (23)

I was sort of in your shoes two years ago. Somewhere in that time I realized that even after 40 hours of work a week, there is still a lot of time to pursue what other interests you have. You should follow your passions, but sometimes getting hung up in waiting for the job that aligns with your passions can leave you sort of limited to crappy jobs you’re not afraid to quit when that big opportunity comes along. The thing is, it’s really hard to know when that opportunity will come.

About 6 months ago I bit the bullet and got an office gig, something I was putting off for a while because I was afraid of having my soul sucked out of me. However, since starting I’ve found myself pretty happy. I don’t make a lot buts it’s more than enough to not worry about eating or paying my rent and I can actually afford to do things outside of work. I have health insurance and when I clock out, I clock out. Best of all, the company is big on hiring within and letting entry level people move into the roles they want to move into.

At its core, I recommend getting a job will give you a decent starting salary and more importantly opportunities to grow into the position you want to be in, even if it’s not SPECIFICALLY your dream job.
