Help! Is my tortoise yearling showing signs of pyramiding?

I am not expert and just learning myself as I have a hatch-ling desert tortoise, but I think you should look into humidity control over feeding issues.

We have been concerned about it to the point of giving our little hatch-ling daily baths, but he is deep in a burrow hibernating away now so we haven't been able to in a few couple weeks.

We keep him in an 3' x 6' hydroponic tray that is about 18" deep. I have fashioned a lid that covers about 70% of the top and only leaves room around the heat/UV lamp for airflow.

Every day I stick a new bit of food in, top off his water, and soak some of the dirt all around the "wet end" of his area. I put about 4 cups of water into his enclosure every single day, sometimes I add another cup or 2 in the evening if it looks drier than normal.

I can shine a light down the burrow and just barely see him in there, and he is moving position daily so I know he is alive, but he does not come out anymore. I know it is 100% expected for them to hibernate, and is even better for them to do it vs. not, but it still makes me nervous that he hasn't ate or drank anything in weeks and was just hatched in early October.
