‘Staggering and alarming’: New daily COVID-19 cases surge to 7,540 in NC

I agree, it all seems pretty vague and so rushed. My youngest is still in elementary and her teacher did email to tell parents that in her classroom they were doing the best they could for social distancing, but it was only going to be 2 ft and not 6ft. I got the impression that they will be making class changes based on what parents survey answers are. If some teachers have too many students in their class, some of the students will get switched to another class of another teacher has less students. But, like you said, we don’t know what that number is.

I watched portions of the press conference that was Wednesday morning and it wasn’t very helpful. They did have someone from the health department there, if I remember correctly, and they were basically saying they were making all decisions based on guidance from the health department. I feel like everyone is under a lot of pressure and it just sucks all around. I really do feel for the teachers and staff.

I was working at home at first but then came back to the office in October, and my husband has a very flexible work schedule, so we are also fortunate. But my youngest wanted to switch to virtual academy for the 2nd 9 weeks because she was “over” the zooms. It was a good learning experience for her, but I was soo ready for her to switch back to zooms this coming 9 weeks because all of the work she doesn’t do or needs help with basically gets dumped to me on the weekends. And I’m NOT A TEACHER, for a reason! Lol I had a small meltdown when I found out zooms will no longer be an option, but I’m just dealing with it now because I can’t do anything to change it.

Things will get better! Best of luck to you too!
