I’ve been looking too, in that same price range, and it’s been tough/impossible. There’s definitely not much available, even for just studios or tiny 1brs. In my experience so far, each apartment I looked at also had at least 5 other people looking at it. With the eviction situation, landlords are being aggressively cautious— like I make totally decent money and know what I can afford, have great credit, savings, no pets, great references, all of it— and each time they’ve rented it to ppl who make more money. I get it— they’re just trying to protect themselves with the current eviction situation— and as a renter it’s very frustrating.
