Spitfire is weird because it seems like Respawn doesn't know what to do with it. High-capacity high-damage squad wipe weapon? Mid-range laser beam? It was perfectly fine S7 because of its niche as the gun you don't want to be caught in the open against, the opposite of how you don't want to be up close and personal with the Devotion. Was it good? Not particularly, but like the Alternator it was valuable for the accuracy and sustained DPM it provided.

Now it lacks accuracy AND damage and all it has to compensate is its magazine size. It lost both its prime spot and its niche. We'll have to wait and see if it's usable but from the sounds of things you're better off with just about anything else.
