How am I still fine when I've reduced my OCD medication so drastically?

Or maybe you’re a slow metabolizer and you didn’t need as high of a dose of those meds as other people that metabolize them more quickly might need. Like i said: the brain is a mysterious place. :)

Yes I am thinking that the most likely explanation is that I found the meds worked and therefore I wanted "more of the same" which ended me taking the higher dose also just because it's stated that the general therapeutic effect occurs after 100mg/day so there's a subconscious bias already built into it both for me and my GP.

The citalopram was only added later as a treatment for low mood but I stayed taking it as I know that citalopram combined with clomipramine is a highly regarded combination that's proven to be highly effective.

My simple reason for experimenting with the lower doses is to try and find clearly the "lowest effective dose" so that I can hopefully eliminate some of the more well known side effects of clomipramine such as general mental and physical fatigue so hopefully I'm onto a winner here.

Thanks to your kind reply and indeed the brain is truly a mysterious place.
