How to navigate seeing a client you would have referred out if you had all the information?

I had a client who I suspect had a BPD diagnosis but did not disclose this to me. In the first session, she shared that she was in a DBT group. She disclosed previous therapy with a therapist over two years ago. I said something to the effect that sometimes it was good to take a break from individual therapy. She did not say anything. After the second session, I realized I was not equipped to take her on as a client. I do not know DBT. When I called her and suggested she find a DBT therapist, she said she already had one! That was a glaring omission.

She seemed to want extra therapy but could not articulate the reasons she needed another therapist. She was probably leaving her other therapist in the dark about this as well.
