The issue actually arose because the professor told me that the thesis was not that good because I did not use econometric techniques, while I argued that there are other papers on growth accounting published in renowned journals that do not use these techniques (for example, they use residuals, the most famous paper in this regard is Solow (1957) for the USA between 1909-1949). The professor told me that if I was so sure that the thesis was that good that we would try to publish it in a journal (he was willing to co-author it) and if it was accepted, that will mean that I was right.

The thesis basis do not require the use of econometric techniques, but unfortunately currently in economics it seems that if you write a paper without econometrics it is a paper of less value. Which seems a bit sad to me.

Anyway, thanks for the names, I'll keep them in mind.
