Quick story.

Auto drivers are assholes, with a few rare exceptions. There is no argument on that front.

That said, I guess your narration of the story felt a bit exaggerated to her which is pretty common for people who are not from a location and don't understand the pulse of the local culture and population.

I have heard a lot of stories where North Indian women have exaggerated stories regarding their experience in Bangalore only to see that it was a nothing burger. That is not to say, that all North Indians or most North Indians behave this way. So she might have gotten played into that generalization.

I personally take any story that comes from a North Indian girl (By North Indian I mean Delhi, Haryana & Punjab) with a grain of salt and it is based on my personal experience.

But the fact that she attacked you verbally for it is not a good thing and that is definitely not a person you should be spending a lot of time with.

PS: I know NI is more than the 3 places mentioned above but women and men from other states like Himachal, Rajasthan, Bihar, UP etc are more culturally in sync with South Indians and are generally nice, trustworthy people.
