How truly different are you than your same sex parent at the same life stage?

Extremely different. Like night and day. She had multiple advanced degrees, a high powered job, two kids, just got a divorce and lived in a condo in the city. Also multiple psychological disorders and addiction issues.

I am childfree, live in a rural environment, never finished college, very very happily married, no big psychological issues thankfully and I am generally just more well adjusted.

However, I have this life BECAUSE of her. Because of what she continues to add to my life to this very day. We are very different, her life was and continues to be much harder than mine for many reasons that just aren’t fixable, but we are extremely close and I have endless gratitude for her.
