HuffPost got it right this time

Gays are persecuted and looked more down upon in 3rd world countries (LatAm, SEA, ME, and to lesser extent Eastern Europe) than developed countries. I also consider the former countries to be far more traditional. While there might be more open trannies in say thailand than japan, you can bet on crimes against trannies and gays are far higher in Thailand/Malaysia than Japan/Korea. Unfortunately in order to be a high tech society liberalism is needed in today's modern times and that's obvious when you look at the development of countries within Asia, Europe, and LatAm (Chile, Uruguay, Argentina are far more liberal than the rest of the traditional countries and are far more developed/stable). It's even the case here in our own country where the money, technology, and "brains" (upper IQ population engineers, scientist ect) are all in liberal hot spots/cities. There seems to be a great imbalance for whatever reason.
