Background information: Ancient Rome (neither the Republic or the Empire) never had an official national anthem, as such a concept was not even envisioned until at least the 15th century. However, after listening to a fictional Roman Empire national anthem, I wondered what a national anthem for the Republic would sound like and ended up creating this. I had to take a few liberties as some of the instruments that the Romans used weren't available, so I used modern equivalents. I based it on what I know about Roman ceremonial and military music. The name "Pax Victoria" is a play on Pax Romana (the early period of the empire) and also the fact that the Roman Republic was nearly perpetually at war.
