Is the idea that the world renders only when we see it plausible?

The evidence of a simulation is that we are currently constructing the means to generate a simulation. Humanity is moving rapidly closer to achieving it. If we ever do, it’s more likely that we already did and are being simulated. There isn’t “no evidence,” there is an abundance of evidence. Computers, for one. The normalization of remote work, more recently. VR explicitly. Even advancements in things like psychedelics, nutrition, biotech, scripted media/entertainment, and automation point to an eventual simulation. Add to the seemingly benign areas things like computer-brain interfaces, AI/machine learning, and literal marketplaces for 6 figure digital assets/art and an eventual simulation feels inevitable.
