That definition doesn't make a whole lot of sense because any act of war would then be a genocide.

You also know perfectly well that the asylum thing doesn't apply to people coming from any country other than Mexico that happen to pass through Mexico on their way up here. You don't get to pick the country you want, simply the next country that isn't trying to kill you.

Immigrant detention isn't meant to be indefinite, but people must be processed and when rejected, returned to their country of origin, not just kicked out to Mexico. I.E. the US government has to send illegal Colombians back to Colombia. This takes time, and it'd be a lot easier if there weren't so damn many of them.

...and yeah, I just said I didn't have any better ideas. I do have worse ones though, so how about you propose a good one that effectively stops people from entering? That is the actual goal.
