This has been posted in this sub for around five times already, and nothing will change. Especially when I see that you're hypocritical in quite a few statements you made in your OP.

Firstly, I see people getting downvoted every fucking where. " I'll try to keep this as civil as possible, and just want to address a few important issues." "Civil"

Downvoting here is no longer based on who has brought up a irrelevant point or posts something immaterial. Down voting here has degenerated to a matter of ermagerd me opinion be different from his let me downvote to show dominance.

Reddit has already been a democracy, where people have shown their opinions and the like, hence the upvote and downvote button. It's how Reddit is. I don't know about most people here, but I give upvotes on how true the comment/post is, and downvotes on repetitive/misinformation of comment/posts.

Secondly, I see favoritism left and right. What was clearly posted by someone earlier is downvoted just because he isn't the usual person who posts the updates. I don't think anyone has any selfish karma-whoring reasons to post, and is only posting as a heads up. We clearly need to appreciate everyone, not just the regulars.

The regulars earned their place and upvotes, because they usually bring the right information. Take our handy dandy dataminer for example. How does he always get his upvotes? From giving out the right information in his datamines. And he doesn't even care about his karma.

Lastly, and this has been seen many many many times.

A person who has a title, be it Mod, Slime or whoever, posts something totally irrelevant in a thread, like "Hi" in the help thread, and people react with "YAY ADMIN UPVOTE UPVOTE UPVOTE". The very next day, someone else who posts the exact same thing in a mega thread is downvoted to hell cos what he said suddenly becomes so fucking irrelevant it deserves to be removed. And the mod's post remains there. cos what he said suddenly becomes so fucking irrelevant it deserves to be removed "Civil"
