I'm (26) Going to propose to my M4 (25) post Match Day - Parents have concerns

My fiancé just proposed to me on Valentine’s Day. We’re both 23, but we’ve been together since we were 17 and are sure that we want to spend our lives together. He’s an M2 and I’m a nurse. We are planning a long engagement and getting married after he graduates, before residency. His parents absolutely flipped out when he told them. They think I’m a gold digger- we’ve been together since we were in high school when neither of us knew what we wanted to do. I’m a nurse and make decent money and pay all my bills, in fact he actually lives with me in my apartment, rent-free. They also think I’m trying to get pregnant- no idea why, because I literally just got a new IUD a month ago that will last 5 years and have never once expressed any interest in children, especially any time soon. It was extremely upsetting and hurtful to learn what they think about me, and that they weren’t in the slightest happy for us. Literally everyone else we know- my family, his other family members, all our friends, even his professors are all so happy for us. We’re just trying our best to enjoy this time together and leaning on the support of all of our other loved ones.
